In the meantime, I am happy with this workaround for now. If any of the Rogers techs here would like to continue to investigate this further, I'd be happy to work with them and provide any data they need. Unfortunately, it seems I am the only one with this issue and I am not sure if Rogers would go out of their way to help just 1 customer. I posted my issue here at first in hopes to see if other customers had the same problem and that we could raise the issue to Rogers and work together to find a solution. I was the one that marked this as a solution in hopes that future customers with the same problem know they can use an alternate dns server for a quick fix. Provide your contact info to opt-in to sharing your data with the FCCor, skip this step to keep your test results anonymous. Last year when I cancelled Rogers back in February, I was getting extremely slow speeds on Playstore, this time it's Google Drive. A: Open the App, then: Choose the Speed Test mode to test any wireless connection. I definitely agree with you that this is only a band aid solution to the problem. You're right about this not being the first time Rogers having an issue with Google services. Congrats, but, Rogers still has to find the server in question and determine what the problem is with it's configuration. You have managed to find a workaround, but the problem is still ongoing. Its unfortunate that this has been marked as solved as it really isn't solved at all. That's a configuration problem with the server. This wouldn't be the first time that Rogers servers have had a problem with Google services, and it probably won't be the last. That doesn't really solve the problem as the server with the issue is still in service and will cause the same problem for anyone else connected to your CMTS who happens to use the Rogers DNS as a default. The end result has been to sidestep some Rogers server in the original path that was causing the slow data rate to the Google Drive IP address. In this particular case, that is probably what has occurred. To add to this, changing the DNS used by a modem or router can result in a different path from the modem to the end server.

If you're mulling over the prospect of having to cook an entire meal for your family, just stop it. Volunteers can pick up a packet at one of the five YMCA locations or contact the Turkey Trot's volunteer organizers on the marathon's official website. Volunteers are also needed to help run the Thanksgiving day and get the racers to the finish line. It's not just the racers who raise funds for these and other important programs. The annual 5K run/walk and 8-mile race raises money for Dallas' YMCA locations which provides a number of important programs such as after-school and summer programs to increase the health and welfare of children all over DFW. However, if you're not the type to get up at dawn and run until your legs fall off, you can still lend a hand for a worthy cause. This annual Thanksgiving tradition has become something of a rite of passage for Dallas joggers. Volunteers can sign up for a spot in this year's meal delivery on the group's official website. The group also encourages families with children to bring the little ones to help prepare Thanksgiving meals. Volunteers are needed to do everything from preparing the meals to delivering them to needy families all across the city. Ever since then, the group set up branches in 30 cities across the nation including Dallas in 2015 when they reached their highest ever goal of 30,000 Thanksgiving meals. The group first started collecting donations for Thanksgiving dinners after the year 2000 when founder Richard Bagdonas decided to give out the food he had for Thanksgiving to homeless people he saw sitting on the street on his way home. The 100 percent volunteer group Operation Turkey spends the entire year making sure that at least our corner of the globe has enough food to go around on Thanksgiving. It's inexcusable that anyone in the world should have to go any length of time without food no matters who's in charge. No one in a nation as prosperous as America should have to go without turkey (or a tofurkey, if they insist) on Thanksgiving. Also, being charitable doesn't go straight to your thighs. We promise you'll feel much better donating your time and efforts to helping someone who really needs it than trying to eat an entire turkey dinner for four people. If you don't have any Thanksgiving plans or just don't feel like eating a whole turkey by yourself, you might consider giving some of your time to some people who could use it.ĭallas is home to several charities who need volunteers to help them fulfill important, worthy causes for the less fortunate especially on this hallowed American holiday. Welcome to the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot! For over 55 years, the YMCA Dallas Turkey Trot has been a Thanksgiving tradition for families, friends, and athletes of all levels. And they’ve included a free FreeCell game ever since. This earliest free FreeCell also allowed players to play with 4 to 10 columns and 1 to 10 cells, expanding on the classic 8 column x 4 cell board layout.īut the game hit it off when Microsoft decided to bundle it as one of the pre-installed games in their Windows operating system back in 1995. One of the more significant changes Alfille made to Baker’s Game was to make the card builds in alternating suit colors, thus creating the modern FreeCell game we know today. It was based on a game called Eight Off, which was in turn based on a much older solitaire game called Baker’s Game, popular among the English in the 1920s. He used the school’s PLATO computer system to program the game, writing it with the TUTOR programming language.Īlfille’s version was the first computerized version of FreeCell, but it wasn’t the first. What’s the History of FreeCell Solitaire?įreeCell Solitaire was first introduced to the world by Paul Alfille in 1972, then a medical student at the University of Illinois. If you like playing free FreeCell, you should also consider the Spider Solitaire variant as they have many similarities. In fact, scientists recognize that the game is a great way for people with cognitive problems to train their brains. In many ways, the thinking required for FreeCell is akin to that of chess. Of course, you shouldn’t mistake this to mean that FreeCell is an easy game – it still relies on a lot of brainpower and tactics in order to successfully solve. This makes the game easier to solve in many ways because you can already plan several moves ahead to play the cards strategically. To put this into perspective, if you play a numbered series of FreeCell games, your 11,982nd session would be the first unsolvable game you’ll encounter. In comparison, the classic solitaire only features an 80% win rate. As a result, almost 99.99% of all FreeCell deals can be solved, making it the solitaire game with the best odds. Thus, a free FreeCell game relies more on tactics than luck. The biggest difference when you play FreeCell online, however, is that all cards are already dealt face up at the beginning of the game. You also place cards into the main piles (called the tableau) in numerical order but alternating colors, much like the original. Like most solitaire games, the goal is for the player to move all cards to the foundation piles (one for each suit) and from ace to king. FreeCell is a classic variation of the solitaire family of card games played using a standard 52-card deck.

These type styles tend to have a script or more playful feel. There’s something special about a typeface with a hand-drawn element to it. When food is scarce, cellar spiders have also been known to eat each other too. This particular spider feasts on small moths, flies, mosquitoes, and other insects and small pests. Not only dwelling in these spaces, cellar spiders also nest in crawlspaces, closets, attics, rock piles and other environments that are both dark and offer plenty of humidity. They live primarily in basements and cellars, which is how they earned their name. Living for around two years on average, cellar spiders prefer to build their nests in close proximity of each other, creating web communities. Constructing loose and irregular shaped webs, cellar spiders hang upside down in them as they wait for their prey. phalangioides also gets bigger than the other two species, at least twice as large in some cases. opilionoides can be separated from the others by the dark marks on the lateral border of their carapace. manueli is more distinctly divided than the medial mark on P. Once the eggs hatch, the mother takes care of the spiderlings for nine days. Long-bodied cellar spiders have a 2-inch leg span while the short-bodied variant has a 1/2-inch leg span. Cellar spiders are good mothers, and they tend to wait to lay their eggs until they have food available. Generally speaking, there are two cellar spider species in Canada – long-bodied and short-bodied. |
